You realize they'll get your birthdate within a day or two as you transition into a new group. Maybe on a service or two it takes a couple of weeks to update, but it's still close enough.

Once a feature becomes available to you at an age change you're going to want to transition to that group as soon as possible.

Let's use LPR for their purpose; reading and validating license plates. Strip the devices down to the minimum required and load lists of license plates to them. They can trigger in those and generate events. They can also be audited to make sure the plates listed are official stolen/bolo, etc, as required.

That's it. That's all they do. Leave the spy craft to spies.

If you're hitting something the size of a building you don't need an Nvidia chip.

My issue with it isn't that they're using a processor, it's that this class of processor is likely overkill. So, either it's so readily available they have a warehouse full of them, or somebody wants to stir up shit. I'm guessing it's effectively the latter. It's more politically with it to raise the concern that it is to bother sourcing this component for production.

Basic image recognition sufficient for mapping navigation can be done in significantly lesser hardware.
