The trouble is, people will go looking elsewhere for those drivers, and download from untrusted sources, which is a bigger security risk. A better thing to do would be to make old driver downloads easier to obtain, with warnings about the specific security problems they might pose.

As I first started reading, I was confused: doesn't the C clear everything? so replacing it with backspace makes no sense. Then I continued to read, and they described C and CE as functionally equivalent, as though this is universal. It's not: Many TI calculators use(d) C as their 'all clear' button, and CE as their 'clear entry' button.

But if these are company-supplied devices, they should be company-managed. So why are they not using InTune (Their own product!) and pushing apps internally which are acquired from the google play store stateside?
