This, this, a trillion times this. I am *SO* sick of men being portrayed as drooling, knuckle dragging neanderthals who can't think their way out of a paper bag, only to have some suave, together intelligent woman doing $TASK correctly and with finesse. You can bet your ASS that if it were the other way and the woman was portrayed as the blithering idiot, someone would get the electric chair, or at least be publicly chastised and lose their job. Note to advertisers: ENOUGH with the man-bashing. It was funny the first few times, 30 years ago. It hasn't been funny since. Wow. That feels better.

I believe it's more like 60% the energy of gasoline. And, ethanol is not really toxic except in large quantities, whereas methanol is much more toxic. Methanol/gas mix could result in more poisoning incidents, potentially. That said, yes, methanol makes way more sense than ethanol. It's been pretty popular in racing circles. I used to play with model airplanes powered by tiny little .049 displacement engines. They used a fuel which was mostly methanol and castor oil. I *LOVE* the smell of the exhaust they give off... but the raw fuel is a bit nasty.

It's 93 octane. Most Kwik-Trips and Mobil stations in town carry this stuff. It's all I will put into my Victory motorcycle (or any other non-auto engine I have).

WxWidgets "moves" and deprecates too. I was on the dev team for Jazz++, an EXCELLENT midi sequencer written in WxWidgets. The original developer gave it up, so we tried to shine it up and bring it up to current standards. We went to the current version of WxWidgets, and the code was so horribly broken due to missing classes, method interfaces, etc. that it could NOT be made to work, and ended up abandoning the project since it would have had to have been written completely from scratch again. Too bad too. Jazz++ was amazing, very simple and intuitive, worked on Linux and Windows, etc. I miss it!
