Just by looking at the CDC data, it's been pretty clear since delta that the vaccine is effective for about 6 weeks. Just throw the raw vaccination data and case rate into excel and you can watch the cases drop as the vaccine rates go up, then begin to rise again 6 weeks later. Look at the data for King County, one of the few places that has a 90% vaccination rate. Omicron ripped through the population without even breaking a sweat. 8 months is a pipe dream.
