URADingus2 writes: Science fiction deals with speculative science, and given how closely related math and science are, it's no surprise that some science fiction involves creative uses of math. Fantasy Matters is running an article about this relationship and highlights some of the interesting and often goofy ways math is represented in sci-fi books.

Submission + - OpenMoko Freerunner sold out

URADingus2 writes: Just 10 days after being made available, the OpenMoko Freerunner is now sold out. The OpenMoko site indicates that more may be available on July 25th, but they appear to have made a good impression on the masses. Hopefully this bodes well for further Freerunner updates, and other open-source cellphone/pda options.
