Nobody thinks nuclear is green. Nuclear power however has the chance to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Nuclear is less polluting than natural gas or coal fuels, at least. Polluting in terms not only CO2 emissions, but sulfur dioxide emissions and the like as well.

I'll ask you this, would you rather have a Uranium mine and all of its related mess, or would you rather have a coal mine and all of its related mess and AIR pollution that goes with it.

Or wait, tell me where are you getting the minerals to make those solar panels? How about those rare earths required for those turbines. Those aren't too green either.

I absolutely think nuclear is green. It has the lowest death per energy of any energy source. The only real problem is CO2 emissions from construction, and then mostly from concrete. This can be offset in the future with green concrete, made with hydrogen gas.

Both Sweden and Finland are members of the EU. There has been talk in both countries about joining NATO after the annexation of Crimea in 2014, and this talk has naturally intensified the last week. Russia has openly threatened both Sweden and Finland with serious repercussions in the last days if they do so.

There is definitely not enough gas on Europe. As a Norwegian, I know for a fact that Norway has exported as much gas as possible since the energy crises started in the autumn. Every facility is producing flat out and exporting to Europe. Norway is the second largest exporter of gas to Europe after Russia, but we can only cover 1/3 of the demand. We have a large LNG facility close to the Russian border, but it has been closed for a year after a fire accident. It is supposed to start up again in April. Germany needs to build more LNG terminals right now.

Democracy works best with a free press. But press freedom is not a requirement to be a democracy.

The only way a real democracy can work, is with a free and open press. How can you know who to vote for, if the truth is hidden from you? Dictators are using your argument all the time: "We had elections, so we are a democracy." Elections in itself does not a democracy make.
