Hi - I work in Wi-Fi Sensing. Yes, you need at lease an AP and one Wi-Fi device (STA) for sensing to work. My 2014 Hyundai has remote start that only works if you subscribe to their Bluelink service. Paying for it made me realize how little I actually used it, so I never re-subscribed.

This has been the Hyundai / Kia model for years - I have to pay to remote start my 2014 Hyundai. Without a subscription I don't have access to remote start.

But my cat isn't linux based. Any time I try to open its source it scratches the hell out of me.
