Everything is a carcinogen, it's the exposure and amount that matters. Glyphosate has been around for 40 years, its much safer than other weed killers. If we do away with roundup, we'll go the next rung up the ladder and start using that herbicide that is more toxic. People need to be reasonable, it's not all or nothing and we have to use something, those in an urban environment where there aren't many weeds won't understand, if you have a backyard full of them, it comes in quite handy vs pulling them.
Glyphosate has been around longer than that, Monsanto put it on the market under the RoundUp brand in 1974. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
I remember as a kid seeing small mounds of 5 gallon and 30 gallon Round-up drums at the edges of fields where farmers would mix with water in their sprayers; self-propelled or pulled by a tractor. That was the mid 70's. A person would empty the drum into the sprayer, then toss the empty drum onto the pile.
As to the safety, smell it and touch it and you should think it's not safe. I've had it on my skin more times than I could ever count, spraying a field or getting caught in someone's overspray. Like safer than other weed killers? maybe, but I definitely would not drink a glass of it, LOL.
IMHO, it's a mistake to always go on to the next more potent, toxic alternative. Instead I would suggest study and research on the effectiveness of drone application (spot application) Ag-Chem companies have been doing the last several years. Bring back field cultivating, computerize it and make it selective based on satellite and drone imaging? Educate and push for the use of Safety and PPE when using these chemicals (most farmers I know are notoriously bad at practicing safety, period, but it's worse when you need to get that field sprayed in time to beat the rain coming in 6-8 hours). Roll some farmland out of CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) and put it back in crop rotation. My two cents...
What are the chances that we haven't already died in a nuclear war? And this is just Hell?
Worse yet, what if this is heaven? I want my money back!
What is this decimal garbage? Thatâ(TM)s 11/192th of an inch, thank you very much.
WTF? One Ninety Twooths?
11/192nds
Wake up guys. Maybe if you locked your nutcases up.......
If we did that, there would be no candidates for public office!
How quickly can we get ALL of these clowns out of office?
Not quickly enough.
