Comment Climate change or money change (Score -1) 136

There is no doubt that humans contribute to the climate more than any other creature on the planet, but here is something I find strange.

Despite hundreds of weather satellites, hundreds of Super Computers, thousands of weather stations, and millions of weather experts, they are unable to successfully predict the weather outside of 10 days. Yet, from some ice core drills and fossil records from hundreds of thousands of years ago, we are supposed to believe they can predict the weather and climate for all the future, and impact our economy and way of life which somehow manages to keep making some people richer and more powerful.

Anybody else see a problem with this?

First, let's make an adjustment or two.

AI - Where we are at today
AGI - Achieved once it learns empathy, compassion, and indifference. These all may take some time.
AHI - Artificial Human Intelligence. This is the real singularity; the point where it matches human capability and the lines cross.
ASI - The beginning of the end for the biological civilization and the beginning of the AI civilization.

Our neurons are basically just 1's and 0's. However, our life experiences provide a bio-chemical reaction to things that dials up or down the likelihood of a 1 or a 0 at our bio decision gates. If you were trapped in a small place as a child you may be claustrophobic and less likely to enter a tight space or something similar. An AI can only simulate that probability. But I say it can be done if they put their mind to it.

I say Mr. Altman doesn’t yet have a clue how to do that or he wouldn’t be trying to lower the bar again.

He shouldn't bother. I met a guy that told me he found it, and since it was thrown away in in a trash heap, it's his property now and he said he has no intention of sharing the bitcoin. He indicated he will soon have access to a Quantium Computer and will use that to decrypt it.

Have fun.

Comment Electric vs Fuel (Score -1) 169

Most of the world doesn't know this, but the United States has an enormous Road system. Easily more roads than any other country. We travel around the country by car. Even when we fly, we rent a car on the other end to get around.

Very few travel city to city by train. Trains moving people are usually just within cities like Chicago or New York, Miami, etc and they are usually electric. We like t remain mobile, and under our control. The last thing we want is for the bus to stop running when we have an emergency and have to get home. Or the trains to not fit our schedule. American's like our freedom and the freedom to come and go whenever we like without being under the complete watchful eye of government is very important.

We are also told the power grid is not strong enough so the electric company wants us using smart meters so they can shut us down because we "use too much electricity", yet at the same time, the government wants us to switch to electric vehicles which is like having 15 refrigerators. The range is really small also. The US is a large country and if I am going to drive 2000 mi (3218 km) I need it to last (without the chance of it bursting into flames).

High speed electric trains; not likely anytime soon.

LOL. I think I tried it exactly once and found they tried to over complicate it when most people just want a quick graphic tool. MSPAINT is all we need and I still use the original on Windws 11.

FYI I also use the original FORMAT from Windows 98 because I could format up to 2 TB with FAT32 but the current one is crippled to 32 GB (if memory serves). It's been several years since I tried it.

For Notepad, NOTEPAD+ is great, but I prefer SUBLIME, but simple Notepad is usually good enough.

Let me understand this; you don't trust the politicians but you do trust the agencies under the thumb of the politicians?

You somehow believe these 3 letter agencies have been protecting people? The "regulatory agencies" have been overstepping their authority for decades. Congress has the right (and duty) to write laws not the agencies.

The NAZI's and Jews both claimed each other was telling lies, spreading misinformation. The population latched on to what the NAZI's were saying and the rest is history.

When somebody claims there is misinformation, if we want to avoid a repeat of history then the person making the claim has a moral and ethical responsibility to PROVE that it's misinformation, otherwise it's just their own subjective opinion they are using to silence the opinion of others.

I need to point out that in many areas it's illegal to rent apartments to illegal aliens, so...
Apartment Owners and Managers rent the apartments to corporations (Cartel corporations)
And those corporations (Officers and board members) fill those apartments with illegal aliens.

So you have...
1. Conspiracy
2. Racketeering.
3. Defraud
4. Fraud

And probably a lot of other charges that could be files against...
Apartment property owners.
Apartment managers.
Corporate board members
Corporate officers
Occupants of the apartments in question.

That's probably about 50 people PER apartment and there are millions of these going on.

The Ohio Attorney General has been informed months ago and nothing happened. Draw your own conclusions.
