That is basically how it will end up.
Microsoft and Sony have already said their systems are going to be sold at below cost to boost sales (sony more so since they want people to adopt BluRay). Nintendo, in their time honored fashion, will make their systems cheap and sell cheap. So, unless the nintendo revolution TOTALLY bombs out (thus making profits being far less then the cost to develop it) OR Microsoft/Sony are SO popular that they make a huge hit on game sales, Nintendo will come out on top profit wise.
On individual units sold, it is hard to say since only the 360 is out right now.
Sony doesn't look to be in too good of position since they seem to be keep pushing back their launch date (due to various problems with their Blu-Ray format).
Nintendo, however, has an advantage because their system will be so cheap (word on the street is $150-200 range) compaired to the other two.
So again, it is really hard to say who will come out on top (depending on what you measure sucess as).
