Extroverts are more likely to end up in management roles, they are much more interested in human interaction and tend to end up in charge rather than in the case of a software company, coding.
Before the pandemic very few organisations took work from home seriously because these people make up the majority of the management and they don't want to work from home.
Now that it's happened some of them are very unhappy about it, but the norm will never go back to being in the office because in software companies at least, they are heavily outnumbered.
