I agree that if I purchase a physical product I expect to be able to use it - this includes using it on all machines that I regularly use. To presume that I intend to make multitudes of copies distribute them is not fair. Certainly Intuit benifits if I "lend" my TurboTax CD to a friend to use once who then becomes a potential customer if they appreciate the value of the product? Apple has embraced this concept more than any other copyright obsessed marketplace entity. The success if this model will, hopefully, open the eyes of many other commercial entities online who will see an increase in actual sales - while not screaming foul over lost revenue from sales that would not have taken place otherwise. I am not a 'criminal' when I share software with friends!
