I read this, and the first thing I thought of was the Politically Correct crowd.
They're the ones that are always talking about the rights of the Palestinians, how Israel needs to get out of "siezed lands" (never mind that they were taken in a war started by the Arabs, but that's another discussion), so I know they have an opinion on the region.
I wonder how they'll reconcile the Islamic intolerance for homosexuality (not to mention the fascist tendencies of Hamas). They give a lot of lip service here in the U.S. about "equal rights" for homosexuals, but if Hamas has their way, they'll likely be slaughtered if (and when) they're discovered.
But then, it's more likely that the PC crowd will just ignore this matter, just like N.O.W. ignored Bill Clinton's trysts with Monica.

Currently the Left is so tied in knots hating Bush, they cannot risk their world view by condemning such actions as it would raise another issue above their primary goal.
It was interesting a few days ago Hannity had some fellow on who had no qualms with saying Bush was a liar. How if we had Kerry in office things would have been better. Hannity then read off a number of quotes that were pro-Iraq war and attributed them to Bush, and they guy is says ever

Fighting the right-wingers, whether they be American or Israeli, is the most important thing to the Left. If some homosexuals or a few innocent women get trampled in the process, so be it.

Otherwise, I agree with what you say. The liberals groups are created to advance agenda under the guise of helping people. But when it comes time for them to prove they are really about helping people and not about politics they go off message because the victim is not a leftist. It's very unfrotunate that so many people put their faith in these things and are let down.
