Wut? Birth rates have been declining for decades across the entire rich world. We know exactly why they're declining, it's not a mystery. As women get wealthier they delay having children to pursue education and a career. This is why there are more women in their 40s having babies than women under 20 for the first time in US history. When they finally start to running out of time to try to get pregnant and commit to it it takes longer and is harder and so they have less children than they originally planned to. That's it. It's not some collective reaction to global warming.

Nah, it's also the young people trying to build a career. It's a lot harder to mentor/get mentored when you don't actually know anyone in your office. I'm under 40 and working on group projects is awful when you're fully remote. Stand-ups, scoping, and resolving terrible git conflicts are a lot more productive in person.
