Journal Journal: Windows Media Player 11

Is it me, or does it seem that Windows Media Player 11 is way more restricted then 10 was. I just tried to Rip several CD's I had just bought, and I can burn them in MP3, but only up to 192Kbps, there is no higher option. The other day, I attemped to watch a DVD on my computer, which I would normally use Media Player, and it told me that it no longer had the codecs and that I would have to buy them! I found VLC, which will let me play them free of charge, but I found this funny that MS would start restricting you on stuff your player could do if you upgraded to Windows Media Player 11. Anyone else find this odd?
