Sweden is part of the EU. Life is not also going on "practically uninhibited". There have been a multitude of shutdowns and mitigation strategies implemented. Hard to see that from the outside given how international media doesn't report truthfully on the situation here.

I claim that he is lying.

He posts a link to an article showing that the goverment isn't taking the absolutely strongest actions possible to curb the virus.

I claim that that doesn't prove that Sweden is doing nothing.

You're now trying to confuse the issue by claiming involving actions that have absolutely nothing (nose picking) to do with the issue at hand (the virus). If you want to prove that Sweden is doing nothing and carrying on like usual you should probably compare how the country, the people and the government have changed and enacted changes since the virus got here. But I somehow suspect that you will claim, for one reason or another, that these changes do not count.

Those articles show only that we are doing non-mandatory lockdowns. Not that we "are carrying on like no big deal".

But the great-grandparent said that Sweden is doing nothing, which is a false statement. The grandparent's reply "A direct lie" is correct, because the post he is replying to is not speaking the truth. You cannot prove that Sweden is doing nothing by linking an article that shows that Sweden isn't doing *everything*.

I think someone has lied to you.
