Not true. Maybe if bittorent was new, but it isn't. People are always using it now. If each node is a server, they can all share server responsibilities. One drops off, a different one can help you connect to the rest of the "server cloud". Some sort of extremely simple redundancy server might help, but if set-up correctly, shouldn't be required.
