This reminds me of the court case where the former CEO of South African airways was asked why she signed off on documents stated that it is not her job to read documents.

If tolls actually went to the upkeep of roads, then there really should not be an issue. What does come up every time is that governments/states/cities hand over the collection of tolls to a private company with little oversight. Way too many issues of these companies pocketing the bulk of the fees and tossing a few coins in the direction of the officials to keep them happy.

Now here is my question: is there any difference in the aerodynamics between a standard helicopter and these eVTOL vehicles? In particular, as far as I know you have rotor wash which affects other aircraft. There is a video somewhere on a aeronautics forum of a small passenger aircraft being flipped over while coming in for landing shortly after a large military helicopter took off. I'll assume that all the same airflow issues still remain. I also recall the reason why it is rare for helicopters to fly in cities is because you have no idea which direction wind is blowing. Maybe it is up, maybe down or maybe to the side - you just can't be sure.

It may have been three years ago where there was an article of some restaurants who were unwilling to pay the Yelp extortion fee. They kept on receiving calls form Yelp to pay the monthly fee for their service. When the restaurants refused their pages were flooded with negative reviews, many of them not even relevant to their establishments.

Someone I worked with in the past lived in Paris and regularly had to travel to London. For him the Eurostar was much faster than flying for this reason. That is the advantage of rail: it stops in the city centre unlike an airport being almost an hour outside.

Recently someone pointed out that these small improvements is part of a larger plan. Each of these small incremental improvements all count together. Better to something small than doing nothing for another two decades waiting for a silver bullet solution that may never come.

As a kid in South Africa in the 80's for us Meccano was just unaffordable. A small drag race car model with only a few parts that's not enough to build anything else was maybe twice the price of a simple lego set. I had some friends that had Meccano, but since you mentioned "wear out" I now remember seeing how many of their parts were broken. The sets used a lot of plastic items held under bending stress. Quite frankly, I'm surprised they lasted this long.

Here where I live there are some of these billboards next to he highway that is so bright that I can't see the road at night. Usually have to use one hand to shield the light so that I can see where I'm going.

Many of those "big money investors" are using pension fund money to play this game, so it's not even their money either, it is yours.
