Well just recently in the Vintage Computer Festival East https://vcfed.org/wp/festivals... there was a Talk by Foenix Retro Systems about their computers (I discovered they are already delivering their products) with either a 68k Motorola CPU (32 bit) or 65816 CPUs (8/16 bit). Going to their web site https://c256foenix.com/ they have a few different computers models with graphics capabilities on par with an AMIGA/ATARI ST from the era and OPL3 / SID capability for sound!, really nice!. But beware, these are NEW retro computers, this means they dont seem to have a readily available library of software, from what I saw some computer languages, Kernel and OS, as well as some other tools are being developed, they have a discord too published on their site, and there are people there making efforts to port the ATARI ST OS. So If you like programing on old platforms and feel adventurous you might give it a go, but if you just want to play old classic games youll have to look elsewhere.. for me, at least I find it really interesting to make a hobby of my old programming skills..

At my high school in Mexico City we had an old teacher who taught Greek & Latin, he was considered quite an erudite, Also I'm pretty sure that greek & latin ARE required for any recognized highschool in Mexico, (then again maybe the whole education system needs to be modernized in Mexico), of course it was just one class, and with one class we never got the knowledge needed to solve this exam.. I'm glad I can at least read the words and understand the general meaning.

Well I still Love C and believe me nothing would give me more joy to hear it is back at #1, but being realistic and at least for Mexico (I mean the country) It would be "way easier" to get a job doing some Java programming than C programming. Of course most of the programming jobs here are for corporate applications and not much related to servers, services, or applications for end users.

On the other hand trends usually hit us a bit late and if there is really a downturn we might see it later than in the good old US.

Just buy an external drive and save everything you do there.. when requested just turn in the laptop and keep your drive..

The policy in my current company is that NO DATA is shared unless we have a "Non Disclosure Agreement" (NDA) Signed with the company/consultant that needs to work with our data. Have your legal department prepare such an agreement with items such as penalties for improper use of the information..

This kind of agreement sometimes scare consultants or companies, and it's cause for some struggle, but in the end if they can't handle the responsibility over your data then you should find someone who can.
