If so many people are worried about safety they could install like a spring retraction device. Like my ID card at work.. its attached to a reel thats spring loaded. When I let go it coils back up in the clip. So run a wire up with the nan-cable and if the wire snaps retract the cable. the weight in space floats off and the cable is retracted into the platform.
No more whiplashing the earth.
