Submission + - Unofficial Qt-based apps for the Kindle! (+Sudoku) (griffin.net)

An anonymous reader writes: I've just posted packages for installing a Qt-based platform on the Kindle 2 & DX devices, and a Sudoku game to go along with it. The Qt-based platform includes plugins I wrote for the e-ink display, the keyboard, and the fiveway joystick thing.... so it's a fully interactive and usable environment now. Soon I'll be adding a sample app with source code to go along with it.

Submission + - SPAM: Google to End Support for IE6

itwbennett writes: Google announced Friday that it will be phasing out support for Internet Explorer 6, more than two weeks after the attacks on Google's servers that targeted a vulnerability in IE 6. In a blog post, Rajen Sheth, Google Apps senior product manager, said that support for IE6 in Google Docs and Google Sites will end March 1. At that point, IE6 users who try to access Docs or Sites may find that 'key functionality' won't work properly, he said. Sheth suggested that customers upgrade their browsers to pretty much anything else.

Not true! If proper training and operation is obtained before operating the unit, this is a factor that can be avoided. Panning, scanning, batching, cosine, and all other effects can be avoided if properly operated. It's also easy to show that they were properly avoided. Now, to the point! As a police officer, I do not want a satellite issuing citations! I will take my chances on a real person any day. If this Lt. wins this case, it will open the door to the satellites being accurate, which they are not!!!! Then, you will find technology being introduced for that satellite to clock your speeds and issue tickets via mail. I don't want this for law enforcement or as a citizen. I hope he looses for both reasons; his son needs a lesson, just like any other citizen and we don't need satellite traffic enforcement!!!!

First, I wouldn't give an insurance company any advantage whatsoever. They are in business to make money, not to cover your losses. Good drivers are paying way too much to cover those that are reckless. Have you noticed your auto rates? Mine have climbed $200 in the last two years! No tickets, no wrecks, no new drivers, no new cars. I am paying for hurricanes, roofing scams, and the like. Are the insurance companies doing anything to stop the scams? NO! So, they will not put anything on my vehicle and me have knowledge of it!!!
