You are correct. The most commonly used IQ scale has a standard deviation of 15. However, other scales are used too.I thought IQ had a std. dev of about 15?
I've never been canoeing before, but I imagine there must be just a few simple heuristics you have to remember... Yes, don't fall out, and don't hit rocks.
