Yes! That is the way to do it! I hate those sites that have their width set for those in 640x480 (especially if you're running in 1600x1200). As well someone was complaining about people setting the font size to 2. Just don't use a fixed size, use it as somewhat of a variable by increasing or decreasing the size by a certain amount, which solves problems in all resolutions.
