I'm afraid I have to disagree on one point.
If you state that safety is a desireable property of computer programs and a general computer environment, then I would like to point out that on the one hand, "safety" cannot be assumed to be equivalent to "good". On the other hand, I could equally assume that "safety" is equivalent to "stagnation". In all fairness, however, those two are not the same either, semantically speaking. :)
If you did not intend to state that safety is a desireable property, then you gain no benefit from utlizing OOP, according to your post.
