A company spends a ton of money on various systems. Configuring them is a lifetime of work. You now have a new issue and IT/Devops tells you you need yet another tool that costs even more. Comes AI and tells you how to leverage your current toolset to do what you need. To me that is a huge win and destroyer of tool sprawl

The Somebody Else's Problem field... relies on people's natural predisposition not to see anything they don't want to, weren't expecting, or can't explain. If Effrafax had painted the mountain pink and erected a cheap and simple Somebody Elseâ(TM)s Problem field on it, then people would have walked past the mountain, round it, even over it, and simply never have noticed that the thing was there.

So had I stayed in my chosen profession of Solaris Sysadmin (oh to be the BOFH again !!) I probably would be feeling like these people are feeling.

In years of cheap interest rates everyone was looking for a better return for their cash. Hence anyone could open a VC and get funded and play the M&A game. These days with interest rates up you have to have a solid track record in order to attract cash.
