Journal Sylver Dragon's Journal: Looking for LAN games again. 2
Ok, I've rambled about this before, and I think its time to do it again.
I'm looking for some good Co-Op LAN games for a LAN party. Mostly, I would like to find a good Diablo clone, with solid multiplayer, preferably, if you can play the main game in Co-Op mode, with decent balancing. Basically, I need the game to have the following qualities:
- Basic story to hold the violence together
- Not very FPS dependent, we have some aging machines in the group
- Not a FPS, some of the group just doesn't go for those
- Not a RTS, same as above
- Some level of character building/advancement, with more customization being better
Ok, some of the ones we have tried:
Diablo I & II: kick serious ass, but we've played them to death
Dungeon Siege: Ok for a bit, but got boring quick. And the game balancing if screwed
Neverwinter Nights: Ok, but just didn't capture the attention of the group. The gameplay seemed to be lacking a bit
Pool of Radiance: We're sort of in a rut, we don't really want a D&D based game at the moment.
Baldur's Gate I & II: Tried number 1, but just couldn't get into it.
Icewind Dale: This is where the D&D rut started to wear thin. We were going along, but everyone wanted a change. The level based system seems so confining after having played a few games that allow more free form character development.
Ok, so what have I missed? Is there something out there that might get my group interested again? Or have we just become too jaded?

Failing that, check whether or not any Playstation emulators have networking support for multiplayer.
