I just got the old IBM clicky keyboard (You can get them on ebay for pretty cheap). I love it. One might think that you need to exert more force to type, but I found that I'm not typing as hard because of the tactile/audio feedback. (As a bonus you DON'T get that stupid windows start key next to the spacebar -- great for games!)
I learned the "right way" to type and honestly, it's not the most ergonomic; I found over the years that I've modified my style a bit and I don't have wrist problems at all. Those gel pads work well too as they keep your wrists from having funny angles. The other thing that helps is the position of your desk. Mine are just above the knees so my arms are pretty relaxed the whole time. Clickety-click click click!!!
