From what I saw in demonstration, as a older C developer, I like what they have to offer. I was in a tussle whether to move over into Zig, or stay with C. I stuck with C because of the ANSI requirements, and ZIG isn't a fully standardized syntax yet.
I get the impression that Zig is going to be competing more directly with Rust in the future, as that was the intention.
I liked what I saw though. Even if I couldn't get it work on my Fedora box. I think that was a Fedora issue.
