paper based (Score 1)

Although it may not only apply to the new media industry, it seems allot of the project managers and indeed a majority of the designers/middle management seem to come from a paper based designing background - or at least the experience ive had points to this. In this sort of enviroment, the only functionality they need is that the page of a magazine turns over, the rest is all asthetics. This, to a couple of the companys I've worked for at least, is a a huge down fall, they know of the techincal background work, they're just to the opinion that it supports the foreground design work, which leads to little designing and poor to no testing beyond the scope of the developer testing it himself. Inevitably of course the company quickly realises that perhaps they should of been listening to the developers constant dribbles of moaning, but by this time, both the companys I've worked for realised this far to late.
