Submission + - C# / .NET 3.5 Opensource Local File Deduplication (

Stauken writes: I slapped this project together as a sort of learning experience. In sharing it with friends have decided it was useful and wanted to submit it to be shared w/ a larger audience. I'd love some extra people posting bugs and input. Builds are always linked to SVN and binaries and source are available at the codeplex url.

Fact is: 1. The pirate bay was where 90% of people who use torrents go to get 90% of their torrents. 2. Sold to GGX, presented pay for download model, now in limbo 3. ??? 4. Profit (For Anakata). At any rate, the mass exodus of people from the pirate bay also included a wave of people who probably hung up their pirate boots out of fear that the 'protection' afforded by using an overseas torrent site with a history of giving copyright holders the middle finger (and then putting it on public display) is now gone. Personally, I never understood bittorrent anyway. If your data is worth typically sacrificing your network performance for, then I guess that's you.

More companies should also consider making sure that their hires and business moves pay off with more profit. That's why this isn't occurring as universally as we would like -- it has little to do with whether or not this is decent business strategy and a lot more to do with whether or not it can be decently implemented by the general (a.k.a. stupid) population.

Have you EVER watched Foxnews? EVER? These people constantly take the republican party and fabricate that they are democrats in captions whenever they have done something to 'disgrace' the republican party. C'mon, get real. It leans in favor of Democrats? Maybe some channels, but that's like saying that the entire world is in favor of a specific race or nationality over the rest. It's simply just not true.

Because OEMs are hacks and will occasionally do things like put versions of Windows that are 32 bits on 64-bit hardware. Very frustrating to unbox a brand new machine w/ a 64 bit processor to find Vista Home loading. On top of that, the way that Vista now handles 'restoring' the hdd means that unless you have all of your drivers handy, a copy of 64 bit vista, and some luck on your side, you are stuck utilizing a 32-bit OS on a 64-bit machine. This spells doom for the average home user, who (typically) wouldn't even be aware of the differences and performance gains that they could have with an upgrade.

Just because no one has pointed it out, the administrator also likely either has access to the database or knows someone who does. Even if you don't have the ability to utilize the SAME algorithm that Wordpress uses (Which unless they did something special that most PHP programmers don't do, it's most likely just MD5), it's not hard to create an additional user that you DO know the password to and then do UPDATE wp_users SET password=(SELECT password from wp_users where user_id=knownpwid) where user_id=adminid .. well, with whatever the fields would be in wordpress (don't have the database open in front of me). Not the easiest thing in the world, but even if this was some end-all be-all 'lock out the admin' and did not generate a notification, unless the entire database becomes compromised (which would probably be indicative of having bigger problems than a buggy wp) the fix is always available and will work universally.
