Is it really relevant what the nationality of the site authors is? I don't think that matters at all. You have to be a pretty extreme nationalist to believe only content aimed at your fellow countrymen is worthwhile.
The US is a huge country and very self-serving in many regards, so for Americans it may be at times easy to forget there are people of other nationalities out there. However, when you run a hugely popular site on a global network, I do not think one should ignore that so easily.
This is not at all the first time there have been presumptions of an all-American crowd inside either Slashdot articles or polls. I don't think it's too much to ask that the existence of us lowly non-American lifeforms gets remembered at times too. It gets a bit annoying at times, and for the less nationally confident, even offensive.
Just a small reminder back from this backwater fishing hole of a birthplace of Linux. :p
