I have to disagree about the relative presence of senior citizens on the 'net. In fact, retirees are among the fastest growing purchasers of new computers and internet services (including WebTV). They have time, and money, and have just become aware of this new means of communication and information.

I suspect that they are a less vocal portion of the 'net, which gives the illusion that they aren't hip to it. They might be used to more passive media, or may simply not feel the need or desire to leave their mark on the Web, but they are here, and they will use the 'net for politics.

So how does this affect what you said? Well, it might be even scarier, if you are typically against the Senior platform. A well-educated enemy can be more dangerous, especially if they have a specific agenda to address. I am fairly liberal, so I'm more likely to err on the side of freedom of speech and personal privacy on most issues. On the other hand, those seniors aren't going to like an Internet tax any more than I would.
