The Matrix

Journal Some Woman's Journal: Obligatory Matrix Reloaded JE 8

Others have touched on this fine (in my opinion) sequel to the Matrix. It had some tasty action sequences to go along with the philosophy party. I have but one thing to add to that which others have said:

Dude, Zion is...A Nightclub.

That is all.

  • Dude, Zion is...A Nightclub.

Aaaah! That finally explains that "blue" and "red" pill thing I keep hearing about! ;-)

    • Next time I see it, I'm gonna count the nippleage... and internally play 'jump around' in my head. That'll fix it. :P

      • What are the rules for 'jump around'?

      • I was starting to wonder how many times they could cut between the bumping up and down Neo, and the temple sceme where some chick's chest poking out of an all to thin top would be shown for just a quick flash. And then there was even that quick flash to one with out a shirt on.

That whole scene didn't really flow with my idea of what we needed to see. I would have rather cut back on the Neo / Trinity bumping and see more of the city of Zion and it's people.

        But that is just me.

        • [SPOILERS] I think that temple scene told us exactly what we need to know about Zion and its people. The Matrix is artificial, the trappings of a life to keep people from questioning, but in the end it is a facade. Zion, as shown in the rave scene, is about dance, about sex, about commonality of purpose. In other words, real, and human, things. The Matrix keeps humanity asleep by playing on the cerebral cortex. Zion is free because it is centered in the reptilian brain of the limbic system: sex, fightin
    • Personally, I prefer the white pills :o)
  • No, only the temple is a nightclub. :-)

I actually liked that scene, on more than just a 'diaphonously clad women dancing energetically' level. I thought it said a lot about the culture of New Zion.
