It's really only copyright infringment and not outright theft. However since you people can't seem to disassociate the two in your mind I'll address it as if it were theft.
The fact of the matter is that despite everyone telling me that I should feel bad somehow by copying other companies products - I don't. Yes I am taking something of theirs and denying them the share of the profits that would have otherwise been realized had I legally purchaced their product. But they earn millions ( they being software, music, movie companies ) or billions and my meager contribution of nothing versus the (software, perhaps) $50 they would have gotten is more valuble to me spent on food. I am a poor college student and I would purchace the product IF I had the income at my disposal to do so. I am going to pirate the product first to see if I'd like to spend my already dwindiling cash on it. ALL of the cd's I own I'd heard on mp3 first. Every game I own, I'd pirated first. Same with all the applications.
The fact of the matter is that I pirate because I can. I feel no remorse because the companies that deserve to recieve my cash contribution eventually will. Those that don't - deserve to have their product deleted and forgotten. When I have a regular job someday I'll purchace everything, I am actually very generous with my money when I have it, but living on the edge of being able to pay for food changes your outlook. I am dedicated to saving myself the maximum amount of money untill I graduate. I know x86 assembly and there is nothing that these companies can do to prevent me from using their products.
and you can't blab about me stealing 1's and 0's because I took all of them when I got my slashdot user number, BWAHAHAHAHAHA (inside joke)
