Journal SolemnDragon's Journal: Things i wish 10

i wish that they would let us know before removing the ceiling at work, especially for planned work rather than unplanned.

i wish that people who cover at my desk would not rearrange it completely.

i wish that i were getting more rest these days.

Or had eaten breakfast.

Or didn't have to leave in 3 hours for a doc appointment.

or that people i work with remembered that i have to leave for the doctors'.

Or even that i had brought a book to read while i wait there.

Did i mention not getting any breakfast?

i wish i could eat normal food.

i wish i had more time to do things that need doing.

But you know what?

I'M STILL DOING BETTER THAN MOST.

I'm with Eth, Eth has it right, regardless of his trousers, his sketchy beverage choices, or his peculiar preferences regarding socks,* and his central role in the great some woman - ethelred raelian holocaust debate war.

Go help! We ain't done yet!

Seriously, i know a lot of you are tapped out because of the donation drives, and are getting weary of it, and even i'm tapped out and weary of it. i'm going to lighten up in a bit and start posting silliness again. We need our silliness. It keeps us going.

For now though... *sigh* i wish they had it better down in the wake of the storm.

* This portion has been entirely created as a work of fiction. Any similarity to any Eth, including your aunt Ethel,** is entirely a matter of coincidence.

**Aunt Ethel is also a fictional character, and any parallel between her and your actual Aunt Ethel is also entirely a matter of coincidence.***

***Unless it's your Great-Aunt Ethel from New Brunswick, the one who drives the Edsel and wears her tea-cosy as a hat, in which case all bets are off, and you are officially on your own.

  • you *really* angered the buddha.

"don't like rice eh? well then... that's all you'll be able to eat! so there!"

normal food... yes. *sigh* i mean... what's so wrong with a dill pickle and a swig of chocolate soy milk?

yes ladies and gentlemen, i have been witness to this very stunt. picture the dragon... after munching on a slice of pickle... takes a considerable sip of chocolate soy milk.

yeah... i was amazed, a little grossed out, but mostly impressed.

      Oh DOOD I'm gonna HURL!
    • mmmmm, dill pickles
    • even that didn't render the soymilk palatable. Better, but not palatable.

And for the record, dill pickles go with EVERYTHING. Especially when you finally find another brand/type of food that you can eat, after the ones you used to be able to eat became unavailable for 6 months.

      • Damn, I made about a dozen jars of them about 2 years ago, still have about 6 left. Things keep forever.

I agree though, they do go with everything. I was wondering about the soy milk, whether it was palatable or not.

        • light weight. if those are 2 quart jars i could have them gone in about 2 months :) i have a problem with pickles. I eat them, like they were candy. i don't think they go with everything, but they make a great meal all by themselves especially when no-one has bought pickles in a long while because they keep dissapearing into a bottomless void :)
      • so, share with me... what brand of dillpickle ?

And I agree - they go with everything.

        • claussen!

yes... recently aquired by kraft... and kraft being pretty cool has a pretty good labeling policy.

          claussen pickles are celiac-safe! yay!

claussen kosher dill... that's where its at!
        • Vlasic pickles are also safe. They are my primary snack food. Believe me, with celiac, gastroparesis AND diabetes, I don't have many choices left!
  • Have you seen this one yet?
