Of course sales are good, people with Windows 10 are scared of the end of the world in October, and they have to replace their good, working, stable computers with something new and shiny that has TPM for Windows 11. Lenovo could be selling crap (although, in fairness, their product line is not bad) with TPM and sales would still increase drastically.

If we accomplish and refine the technique for establishing human colonies off-Earth, we greatly increase the chance of species survival. As well, the 'scarce resources' we have could then be supplemented by more resources from the new colony location. Travel time and cost will make things like wars (stealing each other's resources) less practical, but tariff-free trade would probably work

Agreed. Bill Gates was once asked for the single biggest success factor for Microsoft, and he credited the 'rampant piracy' of early Windows (extending the user base faster than sales could hope for, and getting users biased towards Microsoft products)

... but not quality. You can't take either human-created or AI-created as gospel, certainly not opinions of what's a good read, but AI certainly does produce more and faster (just not better or more accurate) of whatever text you're producing.
