I'm involved quite a bit with interviewing for technical positions, and for me, staying out of the realm of those illegal questions is quite easy. I really don't care about what they like, what they do, or who they do it with. We need people with brains who are going to show up for work and actually do work. Incidentally, we had quite the HR presentation regarding good/bad questions and those questions that are borderline. Bottom line from HR was that you just stay away from all of that, or your ass is going to be on the chopping block.

Pittsburgh has that already. We live just outside of the city, but my wife works in the city; so logically we pay a yearly tax directly to the city because she works there and doesn't live there.... Good times.

Actually, in Allegheny County (where Pittsburgh is), there is already a 10% poured drink tax. Meaning that every drink that is poured at a bar has 10% tacked on to it automatically. This was enacted last year, and there is no way that the Mayor could keep his job if he decided to increase that tax. A lot of politicians already got booted because of it.

I wish I could still have the schedule. It was well known that it wasn't a day that you were going to be there, so no one interfered. They knew if you had to come in that it would likely be repaid in the near future.
