it's a funny thing science. If you look back a history, guided regimes can advance quickly in some area and even conquer with it . . . for a while. But more distributed research, such as underwater basket weaving, might have some unseen use. Like maybe i can suddenly use that underwater basket to clot wounds. Distributed research systems always, always, always, pan out in the long run. And as far as guided regimes, which i mean to say regimes generally dictate by one or a very few individuals with a questionable regime change dynamic, the next guy can destroy the whole thing. The US will go on, Maga has cut about 14% of the total federal workforce. The greatest cuts are in education, foreign aid, foreign relations, and health. This is going to do wonders for the blue state. They are healthier, more educated, and more diverse. I couldn't come up with a better blue print for how to make the North rise again. I have an pixel phone and an galaxy tablet. I really think it depends on what ecosystem you swim in. Having said that, I love my galaxy tab. I take all my meeting notes on it, have it record meetings, transcribe to notebookLM and then have it spit out to-do lists. It has great battery life. The pen is absolutely amazing and it's way cheaper than an iPad.

OpenAI has no way to go profitable but they are the center of hundreds of billions in investment that always seems to circle back to the investors (NVIDIA, Data Center Firms, etc..). the republicans found a crack in the system. If they capture the supreme court, bring up a bunch of cases to the supreme court that would essentially change or nullify laws passed by congress, then they could essentially do an end run around the legislature. So they watered down a bunch of laws related to a presidents power and here we are. Since the legislature is controlled by the republicans, there is no pushback. There are some truly bat*%&^ crazy arguments being presented to the courts here and some of them are making it through. The fallout from all this is going to be monumental (greatest monumental ever in Trump words, LOL). But it will take a bit.

Try gaming company Slitherine. They filled that gap. Paradox is another. Smaller game companies fill the void although I am sure the cycle will eventually gobble them up. The Operation Art of War IV has got to be one of the best hex based military simulators out there ever.

I am so happy to read this. We signed up with Xfinity phone package years ago. Tried several times to have our number transferred from Vonage. Eventually gave up and now have two numbers. I often wonder about this too. The problem with the world right now is the internet and the problem with the internet is you can't tell what's real and what is not. Under those terms, at best, the internet is useless as an information medium. At worst, it does what it is doing now: polarizing people, spreading lies and half-truths through unknown entities, real or fake, paid or enticed through zealotry, individual, corporation, or state, all hidden under the mask of anonymity. It is run much the same as the US runs campaign finance. Shell corporations, whale donors, massive, multinational news organizations. Who the hell knows where the money is coming from. Who the hell know who is really setting the political narrative. I am convinced at some point someone is going to come up with an authenticated social media platform where you have a pretty good idea that the entity on the other end of the screen is an actual individual. Until this comes to pass, I pretty much stick the old standards such as NYT, The Economist, New Scientist, etc. Finally, Zuckerberg and his ilk often talk about information being free, yadi, yadi. And somehow tie up anonymity in that mess of an argument. Isn’t the nature of the entity I am dealing with on the other end of this digital con artist I call my device information and shouldn’t I know the nature of that entity.
