Comment Abrams is a Disease (Score 0) 221

Abrams Star Trek film is an abhorrent joke.
Star Wars Episode VII is much worse...

We've been over this before, how bad the story/script of Force Awakens is.
The acting, special effects, cinematography are outstanding, but the story is ridiculous and an affront to true Star Wars fans.
Abrams and whoever else was in on the writing of the script for Force Awakens took what could have been an interesting and entertaining story and turned it into the "Star Wars for Idiots".

Abrams for the Lose.

On a related note, Rogue One was light years more interesting and entertaining that Force Awakens, and most importantly, actually felt like it belonged in the Star Wars universe. Force Awakens doesn't feel at all like it belongs in the Star Wars universe, even with the actors from the original films included. Force Awakens is embarrassing.

Comment Community Radio (Score 0) 240

I've been a supporter of KRCL for a long time.
It is a great "Community" radio station based in SLC, UT.
They play an interesting variety of music and DJ's that cover most bases...

Radio? as in tune in to the FM frequency?
Sure...

Or you can stream it from anywhere.
So what really constitutes "Radio" as a platform?

I would imagine that all the "regular", annoying as hell, Sinclair Media owned radio stations can also be streamed.

Comment Round Rock? (Score 0) 128

On August 22nd, three days before the storm hit, the mission team was briefed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and decided the best plan was to stay put. They realized that whatever hit Texas would likely hit Round Rock, too, which is located outside of Austin.

So the next time I need to refresh some servers or workstations I can call NASA?

Comment Google News Headline from 2056 (Score -1) 73

The recent wetware update for QuiangXi neural implants has been recalled, due to reports of hacked dreams in some users.

Analysis by Alvaro Bastiani, the renowned author who created the DreamScape platform, which was bought by QuiangXi and re-titled, shows a large percentage of users, around 40%, are stuck in a loop, reliving their last 38 seconds before the update, over and over again.

A spokesbot for QuiangXi says users of their very popular Happy Future platform have nothing to fear, and that steps have already been taken to correct what they are calling a "minor technical issue".

Since the platform is provided gratis for users who receive their primary income from New World UBI, there is no legal recourse for the majority of those affected, though legalbots have queued up and have begun signing up plaintiffs.

Yea, I guess it is defined by what you would consider an "awesome classic".

I know several people who are film buffs who think Logans Run stunk it up...
Personally I like it, and thought it wasn't bad for the time it came out.

I think with the right director and screenwriter it could be done well.

I never placed Logans Run in the same category I would sci-fi films like Alien, Star Wars or 2001 a space odyssey...

Comment Blame the Screen Writer (Score 0) 197

I constantly see things in films, whether Sci-Fi or not, that are annoying and not thought out well.
The suspension of disbelief plays an important role, especially when some script writer has us all in his/her world.
The script writer can create a story, or a world that is completely believable, regardless of whether it matches our existing science.
That usually isn't the case though.

I'll help you with your ignorance of political and historical reference points.
What do Hitler(Nazi/Hard Right) and Stalin(Communist/Hard Left) have in common?

They were both Authoritarians.
So whether you compare Trump to either one really doesn't matter...

Do yourself a favor and read Bob Altmeyers book on the subject.
