I created an account to answer the previous comment, and I can't resist suggesting that Meta-Press.es works also very well once installed on the TorBrowser. (The next release will fix the current display quirks). As stated in the above comment, Meta-Press.es is a libre software meta-search engine for the press, it's a WebExtension and it's fully decentralized.
Meta-Press.es protects the privacy of users on a verifiable base (you don't have to trust that it's not saving your logs somewhere) : there is no Meta-Press.es server involved with your searches. With Meta-Press.es there is no middleman between your newspapers and your web browser.
Then, no ad tracker (nor social ones) are activated on the newspaper side while using Meta-Press.es.
About privacy, the permissions you give to this WebExtension (to read the content of your sources for you) are fine grained (source by source) and can be automatically dropped after each search if you want. It's a good companion to TorBrowser.
