So - where are you from? Where are you now? I've come to realize that there is a disproportinate number of people on the east coast from SolemnDragon up Nawth to Bethanie and Em in da South, and all of us here in the greater DC metroplex. Are we all geographically biased? I know Ethelred's in Germany and we have a few others from 'over the pond' (some WAAAAAAAAAAAY over like Daengbo and Chira).

I'll start.

My name is Silicon, and I'm in Maryland. I was born in Maryland, have lived damned near EVERYWHERE within the state, but never out of it. Hell - I have never been further off the East Coast than Tennesse. Chalk me up for Maryland, East Coast, United States of America.

      • Before that, a year and a half in Ohio working on fish in Lake Erie.

        Before that.... Born in NY, then school at Cornell (also in NY), then work in a couple of labs in NY.

        Yes, new job moved me out. really love it. Mix of programming, sys/network admin, and oceanography.
  • Born & raised in suburban So Cal. College in Massachusetts. Exchange student trips to Australia and Paraguay, and several driving trips across the country and up and down both coasts. Consulting stints in the French Quarter of New Orleans and NYC. Lived in suburban NE Atlanta for a few years before coming out and settling into the boonies that is rural NE Georgia.

    Toronto. Born in Ottawa. Went to School in Hamilton and then NYC. Three years in Rochester, NY before moving to TO.

    But you knew that.

    Before that Wisconsin, before that Minnesota, before that I grew up in Virginia. American by birth, Southern by the grace of God.

    So I guess you could also count me as an East Coaster. Or a Midwesterner. Or something. I vote as a Minnesotan in the elections, though...

    Army brat, so I'm from all over. Born in Germany, actually.

    For the last 10 years I've hung my hat in Northern California.
  • From Maryland. Never 'lived' out of state, but have travelled north well into Canada, south to Cape Kennedy, and west to LA. And all of those were land trips, so I've seen the great unwashed 'flyover land' in great detail. Outside of parts of South Dakota and some stuff in the four corners area, most of it is flyover territory for a reason:) (Oklahoma, Kansas, and TX panhandle, I'm looking at you!)
