ASCAP Seeks Licensing Fees For Guitar Hero Arcade 146

Self Bias Resistor writes "According to a post on the Arcade-Museum forums, ASCAP is demanding an annual $800 licensing fee from at least one operator of a Guitar Hero Arcade machine, citing ASCAP licensing regulations regarding jukeboxes. An ASCAP representative allegedly told the operator that she viewed the Guitar Hero machine as a jukebox of sorts. The operator told ASCAP to contact Raw Thrills, the company that sells the arcade units. The case is ongoing and GamePolitics is currently seeking clarification of the story from ASCAP."

Well it's definately not a Trueswitch issue. I assumed it was a dictionary style spamming, because the account is just xy@yahoo.com And, it was setup just to receive assignments and comments on the completed assignments. But, so far.. I'm only getting spam for various male enhancement items, about 2 a day.

Submission + - Microsoft extends 360 warranty to 3 years (gamasutra.com)

RamblinLonghorn writes: "Microsoft announces that they are extending the warranty of all Xbox 360's to 3 years. This appears to be entirely retroactive and that "those who have already paid for such repair charges can expect reimbursement checks for the amount of their console repair." It seems as though Microsoft is accepting the blame for the hardware malfunctions, but it is worth noting that this warranty modification only applies in the "Red Rings of Death" situation."
