I'm sick and tired of people giving Java a bad rap because their too lazy to learn theh language!
I've worked in many companies using many languages such as C/C++, Delphi, Smalltalk and Java... And let me tell you that Java is one of the most interesting languages out there. People complain about how hard it is to learn!! Come on! If you only know a language such as Visual Basic or Smalltalk... I understand that learning Java might be a sizable task, but that's to be expected!! Your learning something new here! An C++ programmers... Learning Java should be a breeze.
Java is an object-oriented language and should be used as such. I think most C/C++ programmers that hate Java do so because they don't have the proper OO training to appreciate the language, or they're too lazy!!!
How many OO versed developers (with formal training... not reading a book)out there hate Java???
By the way... no, I'm not a java freak! I'm actually currently working for a company, developing in C++. And I believe C++ is the right language to use for the type of application that we are developing. You have to be flexible!! Use the right language for the right application. C++ is definitely not a solution to all development projects!!!!!
