The official stance on Splenda (from the company) is that the body can't break it down, and thus probably excretes it. They are not able to prove if the body excretes this chemical, what if it can't? What if the chemical accumulates in the body, has there ever been any long term studies on this product? http://www.mercola.com/2000/dec/3/sucralose_danger s.htm (hint just put asdf@asdf.com) NO. My hypothesis about splenda is either that the chemical accumulates over time to toxic levels, or that the body breaks down the sugar part of the molecule and leaves the chlorine in the body. I have expereienced reactions to this poor excuse for a consumer product. Hair loss, disruptions in my biological clock, mood swings, and general irritableness.
