I don't understand why almost every single sci-fi franchise has some kind of "save me" organization behind it when it's about to get killed off, no matter how bad it is.
I've never been canoeing before, but I imagine there must be just a few simple heuristics you have to remember... Yes, don't fall out, and don't hit rocks.
