I'd agree - I was surprised and disappointed to find my shiny new HTC Desire, couldn't connect to my work's WiFi network, because there is nowhere to put the WiFi proxy server settings. As even "unlimited" data plans these days have quite restrictive "fair use" usage per month (e.g. 500MB), I really was expecting to be able to use WiFi most of the day. Due to this omission, I am having to curtail my intended use of the phone.

Yeah bug 124750 is the focus() bug which was opened in February 2002.

Not exactly the quickest response by Mozilla. Of course now it's gone all 'front page news' it's been fixed (in the nightly builds anyway).

Doesn't sound much different to the Microsoft approach IMHO. :)
