Journal Journal: Christmas is coming...time for the capitalist bloodbath 1

This is just a little reminder...don't let Christmas be about the economy. Whether you are Christian or not, let the season be about love, family, and tradition. We forget these things far too often. Merry Christmas, everyone.

Journal Journal: Obligatory introduction 1

Thanks for stopping by.

Maybe I'll have something interesting and enlightened to post here once in a while. And then again maybe you shouldn't hold your breath. In all likelihood it will be just one more voice in this vast virtual ocean spewing nonsense and presenting uninformed opinion with some degree of authority and conviction. I guess I should run for president.

Journal Journal: Fedora Core 1

Well, I upgraded my Red Hat 9 to the new Fedora Core 1, and I have to tell ya...the Fedora upgrade was as smooth as glass and twice as shiny. My laptop is running like a dream, and the only issue that I can find thus far is that something happened to my tsclient software. I'll probably just have to reinstall.

Journal Journal: Don'tja just love clients?

Good lord.

So, I'm in the process for designing a web app for The Client (this is the client has been giving me fits for 8 months now), and when I ask for business cases and requirements, I get MAYBE, POSSIBLY, I DON'T KNOW. I can't work with that, and he knows it. He's using us to flush out his business, and that's not what a software designer does. He's proposing new functionality, but have NO IDEA how he is going to make it work.

Journal Journal: Busybusy

Been a pretty crazy week or two, but the highlights are that we had a really fun time with some friends on Halloween, and other than that, life has been fairly quiet.

I started a new session of Yoga last night, which thoroughly kicked my ass. No matter what they tell you, Yoga is as much about isometrics as it is about relaxation. It's WORK, dammit. Still, I felt pretty good about it afterwards, which is something.

Journal Journal: Moving the journal here...

So I've moved my online journal here because, well...frankly, my boss and clients were reading it, and how can I vent about work if everyone is going to be reading it? So I've elected to take advantage of my Slashdot account and post here, instead.
