Act interested, put them on hold for 5 minutes. Act interested again, put them on hold for another 5 minutes. Act interested again, put them on hold for another 5 minutes. Then tell them they are suckers and they just wasted 15 minuted of their life on a fruitless venture.

It is fun, rewarding, and it hurts their bottom line.

Submission + - Skype Reads BIOS, Motherboard Serial no.

pfp writes: Myria at pagetable.com, among others, noticed that Skype reads the machine's BIOS code on startup. This probably would've gone unnoticed if the operation didn't fail on 64-bit windows. From the post: "It's dumping your system BIOS, which usually includes your motherboard's serial number, and pipes it to the Skype application. I have no idea what they're using it for, or whether they send anything to their servers, but I bet whatever they're doing is no good given their track record. [...] If they hadn't been ignorant of Win64's lack of NTVDM, nobody would've noticed this happening."

If I publish a webpage and the state of Texas tells people that they are forbidden from using government-funded equipment to read my document because the state finds the content of my speech to be offensive, the state has abridged by First Amendment rights.

That is both false and not relevent to what we were discussing.

See the supreme court decision about filters in libraries.

And it's irrelevant because they have not made any claim about the blocked content being offensive. Read the bill.

Your sequence of steps fails at step two where they impose a restriction on what someone else can distribute. That is censorship.
