Wouldn't a better response to the situation be "People aren't doing a good job with cinematic style games, so I'm going to write good ones?" It seems kind of non-intuitive to say "You guys suck at this type of game, so I'm going to focus on making the kind of game that you get right."

I'm not worried about having magnetic substances injected into my bloodstream - I get enough EM radiation from my PC's monitor, not to mention sunlight. What I'm curious about is the article's discussion of heating the molecules once they're inside my body. I know one of the researchers mentioned that this carbon nanofoam is a piss-poor conductor of heat, but I'm still a bit wary of that.

Also, it's been a few years since high-school chemistry - why would this nanofoam lose its magnetic properties after a few hours, rather than immediately upon cooldown? That just strikes me as weird. (Fascinating and cool, but weird.)

Journal Journal: The start of the Slashdot experience...

Crazy as it sounds, I've never messed around much with Slashdot; I've been sent plenty of links to various articles, of course, and have always been somewhat repelled by the comments, of all things. Hopefully by creating an account and customizing my Slashdot page and viewing options, as I've just finished doing, it'll work better for me. But who knows? --Saragon
