Agreed. I don't like Obama. Or McCain, Romney, et al. They're all corporatist, authoritarian whores. And as much as his supporters, and channels like MSNBC like to imply that disagreeing with Dear Leader makes you racist, it's preposterous to make the argument. So what did I do in 2008 and 2012? I wrote in Gerald R. Ford for President. (We may as well elect him once, after all.)

The limit is 12 regenerations, not Doctors, therefore the 13th and final Doctor comes after his 12th regeneration. (As a kid, in 1986 I asked John-Nathan Turner what was going to happen when the Doctor hit the limit. "We'll think of something" was the answer). This was made something of a plot device with the Master in the classic series, with the Master having run out of regenerations and being extremely aged/decrepit in a couple of serials, before Anthony Ainley took on the role.

My bet rests with someone inside the DOT who knows someone at a plant that turns out the signs. And got them to do up a bunch.

It's actually simple to go out to any company that does signage for the state and get them to make signs to state standards for you. I once worked on a software project codenamed "Freeway" and thought it would be cute to have a couple Freeway Entrance signs made to put up in the halls on our floor of the building. The only question the company asked me was to confirm they were for private use.

How is that surprising? TBOM is America's first Science Fiction novel, after all! Steel swords and old world plants and animals in America, magnetic compasses, a Middle East with unrecognizable geometry -- it's clearly an alternate history steampunk novel ahead of its time.

I've always described TBOM as the world's most famous piece of Christian fanfiction.

Quite right. Microsoft adds a nontrivial amount of commuter traffic to local infrastructure, and the only two things they've ever ponied up for: - A contribution to a new overpass over the 520 freeway to connect the two halves of the main campus. This contribution was not the bulk of the funding. - The Connector bus system for employees, because Washington state is so bad at infrastructure planning that Seattle metro is choked with traffic. (New slogan: "Seattle! 1/4 the size of Los Angeles, but with traffic that's 1/2 as bad!")
